    How does CD replication work?

CD replication and duplication are two different processes and both processes are used to produce a number of CDs out of a master CD copy. CD replication is a simple process which creates a CD by molding the disc with the help of a stamper. At the end of the process, an exact replica of the master copy is produced. After the process is completed, the data cannot be altered or changed. On the other hand, CD duplication is a different process which refers to the burning of data onto a disc and this process is generally carried out by using consumer technology. CD duplication is a simple process and it is also inexpensive. However, if you need to create many copies then CD replication is an ideal option. For instance, if you have a master music CD and you wish to distribute it amongst consumers, then CD replication will help you. If you want to sell CDs in local record shops then professional replication is the best option, as copies will be of highest standard. The process of replication also includes art and packaging which will provide your CD with a professional look.In CD replication, the original disc is used to make a glass master that allows a set of stampers to be made. With the help of high tech injection molding, you can create copies of the master CD. After doing this, a coat of aluminum is applied on the disc and then lacquer is applied which hardens the disc with ultra violet light. After this process is completed, the CD is put through a printer for the artwork.
