Your wedding day, one of the most important days of your life. Everthing is arranged, venue, cars, church, flowers, etc, but, what about the man who is going to film your big day….. the videographer.Will he turn up on time? will he do a good job?. will he film the guests entering the church?. The list goes on, he has to get it right first time, no chance of a rerun.We all know how important a DVD of the great day is, it should capture every moment and all the emotions that go with it, bride arriving, brides mother in tears, page boy falling over………. To help you get the great day here are a few points that may help you pick the right person for you..If possible choose a videographer from recommendation from a friend, work colleague, ask to see DVD samples but be adamant that this is YOUR day and do not hesitate to explain to him exactly what personal moments or personal items you wish to be included on the DVD.Without being to technical ensure that the equipment he will be using is professional and preferable upto date. Check what he will be wearing on YOUR big day, you don’t want him turning up in jeans and a t-shirt. Will he be using one camera or will it be a two camera shoot. Check that he will visit the church and reception prior to the big day, to ensure that he is familiar with route and layout of venue. Having a camera pointed at you for most of the day and possibly the evening can be very exhausting and traumatic so it may be worth asking for a female operator… just a thought.Obviously COST is a major factor, so its very important to get this sorted out at the very beginning, ask the videographer for a full breakdown of costs and get is all in writing for peace of mind. The videographer will probably require full payment 2/3 weeks prior to the wedding date, so at that point you don’t want any costs you were not aware of.
