In the field of computers and entertainment we as a society have discovered various new things to enthrall ourselves. Technological advancements has made it possible to make advancements in computer hardware and software. It has become very easy to copy files into a disc format. So you can own several copies of a set of data. This proves to be superb backdrop method in the case of important files.Copying a file can be done in two ways – duplication and replication. These processes appear similar but they are different as each of these processes will produce different results. You must know the difference between CD and DVD duplication and replication to get the best results. A duplicated CD or DVD can be created after burning them on to a blank CD/DVD. Whereas in the replication process, information can be added on when the CD/DVD manufacturing process is in progress.Duplication process is less time consuming. They do not contain as much information as the replicated CD/DVD. After the data has been written on the blank CD/DVD, the information can then be compared with the master copy for verification and the process is completed. CD/DVD replication is however not similar to this. A manufacturing process is at work. Completion of the CD/DVD will result in a CD-R or a DVD-R. In the case of CD/DVD replication, the concept of CD/DVD-R is non –existent.

CD and DVD replication is different from duplication

Making numerous copies of an original CD or DVD is termed as CD and DVD replication. The replica CD’s or DVD’s are the indistinguishable copies of the master CD. There are a lot of people who confuse it with duplication. In the process of replication the data or the information is stored on to the disk of a computer and then it is transferred to CD’s or DVD’s or any other device. This is not making duplicate copies but it is process of making multiple copies of the same CD or DVD.The main difference between duplication and replication is that duplication can be done with any computer and does not require much effort. But for replication one ought to have a specific machine which has the capacity to produce numerous copies of the same disk. These machines are made in such a manner that they first read all the data and the information that is stored in the original disk and then it is written by it on the number of CD’s DVD’s as one command. For this process first one master copy is made and then the data or information is transferred on to the blank CD’s or DVD’s. This method of transferring is called as burning the CD. One can also put the DATA on a stick and then plug it into the computer and then transfer the data to the blank CD’s or DVD’s. This is easy as one does not have to make a master CD first.

    Creating a DVD from Files

The process of converting video footage to a DVD-video disk playable in any standard DVD player involves several steps. The first of these steps, digitizing the video, After converting your footage from analogue to digital, you must convert it again to MPEG-2 format (unless this was done as part of the first step), then separate the video and audio streams into distinct files, then transform these files into the .VOB, .IFO and .BUP files that your DVD player understands, then finally burn the files onto a DVD disk.Fortunately, many DVD authoring programs are available that can perform every one of these steps within the same interface, making the procedure novice-friendly.What you will need:1. A DVD burner and blank DVD disks (any format except DVD-RAM)2. A DVD authoring and editing program such as: Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3, InterVideo WinDVD Creator or IfoEdit (with AVI2MPG2 and TMPGEnc)3. A CD/DVD creation program such as Nero 5.5+ or Roxio Easy CD and DVD creator (only needed if you plan to use the free DVD creation method outlined below. All the commercial DVD authoring programs we cover here include DVD burning as part of the package). The above list of programs are the ones used for the purposes of this article. There are many other excellent DVD-authoring software packages available, so if you already have a different one included with your DVD recorder, use that instead. Chances are it will work in a similar way.Note that all of the above packages except for the combination of IfoEdit, AVI2MPEG2 and TMPGEnc are commercial products. They both have a brief trial period in which you can test them out, however. There are sadly few freeware solutions available.Once you have created your dvd, you can use it for dvd duplication / dvd replication. You can also put a copy guard on the dvd, so that people can’t copy your dvd duplication/ dvd replication discs. You need to do this in the authoring process. You can have it done at a dvd replication company but you may be charged for this.

    March 7, 2010

Making a sale depends on much more than simple brand loyalty. Marketers need to encourage more, and incentivise more. As such marketers of major brands are constantly trying to find new ways to entice customers through their glossy brochures and printed mailers.A combination of digital and printed media can help maximise opportunities to communicate brand awareness and product content on a promotional CD or DVD. Whilst CDs and DVDs are perceived to be high-value items, they are visually appealing and cost a lot less than you may think. The perfect shape, exibility and light weight means they can be a very accessible and cost effective way of demonstrating yourbrand, whether it may be it a new car launch or a video tour of the latest holiday destination.CD’s and DVD’s really can help to bring your brand to life and deliver in depth content to your customers in a new and interesting way. You may want to add to the appeal by including a competition on the disc, perhaps after the end of playing your message you offer an opportunity to win a holiday or discount.Create a direct link to your website; the disc can be the perfect catalyst for directing people to your full range on-line. No need to wait in the hope that customers may enter your website by chance or via one of the many search engines. The possibilities are endless, your CD or DVD can be programmed with direct links to special areas of your website, ideal for marketers who are looking to boost the interactivity with theirconsumers. Many companies are already using CD and DVD mailers, and undertaking CD replication or DVD replication but usually with traditional bulky packaging or containers made of environmentally unfriendly materials. The Postcard disc is just one solution where you can carefully consider a balance ofeconomical and environmental issues in addition to finding the best ways to increase customer uptake. With a Postcard disc the CD or DVD is much more than only a data carrier, it is the message itself.  CD replication or DVD replication is the process used to manufacture these discs with the finish being professional, and slick and will get your message across.

    EcoDisc

The DVD as we know it has become the standard medium for data storage in the world’s consumer markets. Relying on its cost/capacity ratio, the standard DVD has remained largely unchanged since its invention in 1993.While the need for cutting oil dependency, minimizing energy consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions has reached global consensus, the standard DVD in its rigid format has very little to offer to meet these goals. On the contrary, it depends on a non-biodegradable, toxic resin to bond the two halves a DVD is constructed from. The EcoDisc has been engineered with its impact on the environment in mind. Using today’s materials and technological processes, the EcoDisc has all the advantages of a standard DVD with the same capacity, playability, optical and electrical properties. The EcoDisc is not only thinner, lighter and more flexible than a standard DVD, it is also entirely free of toxic bonder. The difference becomes clear when you look at the EcoDisc’s carbon footprint. In comparison to the standard DVD the EcoDisc consists of 50% less polycarbonate, an oil derivative used as the main material to form the disc. By halving the amount of raw material, the manufacturing of the EcoDisc also needs 50% less energy in production. Taking all influencing factors into account, using EcoDisc instead of standard DVDs effectively reduces CO2 emissions by 52%.But it is not just the carbon footprint that is smaller. The thinner EcoDisc reduces the transport volume from factory to the consumer and thereby reducing freight cost and conserving fuel. The EcoDisc increases warehouse storage capacity and its lighter weight saves on postage. Its flexibility guarantees stronger durability when it is being handled, packaged or mailed to consumers. And ultimately when it comes to the end of its life cycle, the EcoDisc can be easily recycled thanks to the absence of any toxic bonder.Standard cd duplication or DVD duplication packaging, can also be used for the ecodisc. The process also remains the same for the printing, as cd duplication and dvd replication which also keeps the cost down.

DVD distribution is used in many industries- such as film and music.By using modern technology, it is possible to make duplicate copies of DVDs from a master copy.DuplicationDVD duplication is a burning process that copies the content from the master copy to a blank DVD.
