In the CD and DVD replication procedure, after the glass master copy has been made and is prepared to be replicated, a replicating machine is then put to use to produce the number of copies required. The replicating machines are very prompt in their work. They can mould discs at a speed of 900 per hour.CDS are composed of polycarbonate. These are molded at ease as they are melted at low temperature. The CD and DVD replicating machines initially dry the polycarbonate at a temperature of 130 degrees. After this the disc is vacuum fed and placed into the injection chamber. It is then heated to its melting point 210-320 degrees. After this, it is injected into the mould that has the data print. Once it is full. Water is passed over it and the disc becomes solid. The data is however intact in it. The disc now goes through a process called sputtering. The ultimate stage of this CD and DVD replication process is to add a protective layer to the reflective side to avoid corrosion. A lacquer is applied to the disc. A spin coater machine is used to apply this lacquer. This lacquer gives protection without disturbing the reflective properties of the data side. Then a UV lamp is used to remove the lacquer and this is done very fast. The intensity is high to achieve quick results. So we see that the CD and DVD replication machines are very important parts of the entire replication process.

CD replication is a process, where many copies are made from a master copy (error free data) which finally goes for mass production and is mostly used for the commercial market. This process is followed by all the major CD manufacturers across the globe. So how do you do CD replication? The simple steps follow; once the master copy is submitted, the professionals follow the basic steps to create the disc by using “glass master”. Once the disc is made the graphic designs is added on them for good packaging. It’s followed by filming or recording of the data then later proofing it thoroughly and then starts the print. Finally it’s packaged and parcelled to respective destination. In the process of CD replication, first is to create a master copy, which should be completely error free and in high definition (audio, video) and recorded slowly.Replication happens when “data is pressed” into a raw disc. This process is mostly done by the specialist’s cd manufacturers. Minimum 500 to 1000 units are considered a standard order for replication of CDs. It is not applicable for those who require lesser quantity. This process takes time but it is much cost effective compared to CD’s which are duplicated. They are compatible to any kind of players, starting from various models of DVD players to CD-rom in your PC.“Silk screen” printing is most popular printing options. The process look simple, and most of the audio and movie companies outsource the job of replication to professionals. As the specialist will take right care at the final step of production of quality replicated CDs and also sort and send the shipment in various destinations.

In the field of computers and entertainment we as a society have discovered various new things to enthrall ourselves. Technological advancements has made it possible to make advancements in computer hardware and software. It has become very easy to copy files into a disc format. So you can own several copies of a set of data. This proves to be superb backdrop method in the case of important files.Copying a file can be done in two ways – duplication and replication. These processes appear similar but they are different as each of these processes will produce different results. You must know the difference between CD and DVD duplication and replication to get the best results. A duplicated CD or DVD can be created after burning them on to a blank CD/DVD. Whereas in the replication process, information can be added on when the CD/DVD manufacturing process is in progress.Duplication process is less time consuming. They do not contain as much information as the replicated CD/DVD. After the data has been written on the blank CD/DVD, the information can then be compared with the master copy for verification and the process is completed. CD/DVD replication is however not similar to this. A manufacturing process is at work. Completion of the CD/DVD will result in a CD-R or a DVD-R. In the case of CD/DVD replication, the concept of CD/DVD-R is non –existent.

The process of replication is easily mistaken for duplication, which is concerned with burning blank compact or digital versatile disks. This confusion is probably fuelled by the fact that the results of the two processes are more or less similar. However, the key difference between the two is that replication involves moving of non-original data from one source to a CD/DVD, thereby creating duplicates. Replication is also undertaken by authorised companies and brokers, while duplication does not involve such a restriction, it can even get done on a personal computer. The process is preceded by an examination of firstly, duplication. It is followed by that of moving from the source, called glass mastering, which is in turn used in the creation of the mould, called the stamper. Substances containing polycarbonate are then merged with the stampers, thereby creating discs. The next step is a crucial one; the validity is established by ensuring there are no unreadable portions. The process itself is begun by formatting and arranging of the data; the pre-mastering stage. Then follows the mastering stage, which is basically about getting ready for replication of both or either audio and audiovisual data. Electrolysis occurs after stampering, through immersion into nickel sulfamate. Prior to the pressing procedure, the mould is washed, dried and protected with a film. It is also smoothened and shone. Thereafter, the moulding stage takes place, as previously mentioned, through the injection of the polycarbonate. The last step is the pressing and printing of the file.

After replication you cannot find any difference in your entire copies of DVD.

Making numerous copies of an original CD or DVD is termed as CD and DVD replication. The replica CD’s or DVD’s are the indistinguishable copies of the master CD. There are a lot of people who confuse it with duplication. In the process of replication the data or the information is stored on to the disk of a computer and then it is transferred to CD’s or DVD’s or any other device. This is not making duplicate copies but it is process of making multiple copies of the same CD or DVD.The main difference between duplication and replication is that duplication can be done with any computer and does not require much effort. But for replication one ought to have a specific machine which has the capacity to produce numerous copies of the same disk. These machines are made in such a manner that they first read all the data and the information that is stored in the original disk and then it is written by it on the number of CD’s DVD’s as one command. For this process first one master copy is made and then the data or information is transferred on to the blank CD’s or DVD’s. This method of transferring is called as burning the CD. One can also put the DATA on a stick and then plug it into the computer and then transfer the data to the blank CD’s or DVD’s. This is easy as one does not have to make a master CD first.

Most CD and DVD replicators have artwork templates in Adobe Photoshop or Quark. These are the most commonly used graphics editing software available on the market. You should try to use templates supplied by the replicators because they would have the dimensions and resolution preset for you. If you prefer to build the artwork from the scratch without using the template, remember these attributes: 300 dpi and CMYK mode. Don’t try to digitally increase the resolution by entering 300 dpi into the program unless your original artwork resolution is higher than 300 dpi. The concept is similar to buying a digital camera or camcorder. Usually the user’s manual for the digital camera or camcorder will explain the difference between optical zoom and digital zoom. Digital zoom is like making the pixels bigger than they should be. In doing so the picture looks bigger but the quality is low.To get a true 300 dpi picture, you should get a picture with enough pixels. The dpi of the picture is not really important. You can have a 72 dpi picture but 2000 pixels across. When this picture is scaled down onto the CD artwork template, the result will be very good. On the other hand, if you have a 300 dpi picture but with only 200 pixels across, then when the picture is scaled up onto the CD artwork template, it will look blurry.Once you have your artwork designed, you should burn it onto a blank CD and send it with your content master CDs to your replicator. . CMYK is the standard color model used in offset printing for full-color documents. Because such printing uses inks of these four basic colors, it is often called four-color printing. In the CD Replication process and also DVD Replication process the above information is relative.

Most organisations and companies back up their data. This is because of computer viruses and updates. If computer systems are updated it is always advisable to have a backup of all information and data, so it doesn’t get lost.Generally, the replication of CDs is performed by a company where different systems are used. During the process, the CDs are pressed from a digital source using the same information, in order that they are identical copies. Nowadays, there are various different methods such as photo-resist mastering, glass mastering and dye-polymer mastering.Once the replication process is over, a quality check is done which will help to check that there are no errors or abnormalities to any of the CDs. After checking, if they find no faults in the CDs, the rest of the copies are replicated. Why opt for CD replication services? If you need more than two or three copies of the same disc for advertising or other purposes then you need to go for CD replication, as it is fast and accurate. One of the best things about these services is that it is cost-effective, as this process helps in producing a large number of copies.
