    Cases

There are lots of different cases for Cd and DVD.  Many colours, shapes and sizes.  The best way to look at this is to find out what type of cover you want.  Do you want a large cover with lots of information on? Or a small cover with a picture and number/website address on it.  Templates for the artwork can be found on the internet.  Once you know what you want and you have the artwork done.  The next thing is what type of case, a slimline case, standard case, double cases etc…..  . The list goes on.  there are also a lot of colours can choose from, so if you want to match the colour of a company’s logo you can. Well within reason. The cost of cases depends on what type you have and the quality you require.  Cases are not all the same.  If you have a cheap case that looks tatty and badly finished it can then spoil the look of the artwork.  You can have the best artwork in the world, but if the case is cheap looking then you are in trouble.  The best thing is to go for a mid to high range case and where possible try and get a free sample of it first. This also applies to Jewel cases and clamshell cases.  The cheaper ones tend to break easily in transit especially if being posted.  They also don’t always close properly so the disc may fall out.  Not a good idea, also the pvc wallets have different thickness, always try and go for the thicker ones, the cheap thin ones can rip when you put the disc in it and offer little if any protection for your disc.Double Cases, there are two main types face to face, this is  where there is a disc on both sides of the case?  The other type have a flap in the middle of the case where the discs go.
